family in a fieldHay Fever or Allergic Rhinitis – is the inflammation of nasal mucosa caused by exposure to antigen such as pollens, dust mites, pets, molds, etc. It affects about 25% of the population. The symptoms are frequent sneezing, nasal congestion, post nasal drip, itchy nose and more.

Asthma – is a reversible narrowing of the bronchial airway in the lung which manifest with wheezing, coughing and shortness of breath and can be triggered by allergies, infection, exercise, cold air and cigarette smoke. This condition is becoming more common in both adults and pediatric patients and affects about 5-7% of the population.

Chronic Bronchitis or C.O.P.D. – An inflammation of the bronchial tubes causing persistent cough, shortness of breath and wheezing. Chronic bronchitis is more common in smokers.

Eczema – It affects 3-5% of the population and is associated with severe itchy and dry, scaling of the skin.

Hives (Urticaria) – About 30% of the population can develop hives sometime in their lives. The symptoms are itchy, raised rashes, with different sizes at different parts of the body. Sometimes it can be associated with swelling of the skin or mucosa (angioedema) which can be a life threatening situation. Chronic hives can be a challenging illness but there has been a significant improvement in the treatment of hives and angioedema.
